Stephan Celestin. An emerging artist. A young visionary. A Haitian-American creator born and raised in South Florida since 1996. He graduated with an AA from Broward College in 2019. Currently wrapping up his BFA from Florida International University, he has been making art for over a decade thus far. Stephan’s works have been accepted by numerous exhibitions. Nations Time has been exhibited in ICON, a Virginian exhibition at the d’Art Center in Norfolk. Georgia’s Watercolor Society displayed “Confetti Canon” in their 43rd annual exhibition. In 2024 Stephan will be displaying many upcoming works at Coconut Groove 60th Art Festival.
Stephan Celestin is an artist whose satirical artworks explore complex political, social, and personal dilemmas. Thanks to influential artists such as Banksy, Damien Hirst, Eric Yahnker, Barbara Jones-Hogu, and even Albrecht Durer, Stephan has combined the traditional techniques of printmaking with the urban aesthetic of spray paint to manifest a unique visual language that speaks directly to our current cultural moment.
Celestin’s works are characterized by their gutsy, eye-catching imagery and biting commentary on contemporary issues. Through his art, he aims not only to highlight the hypocrisy of society’s most deeply ingrained values and beliefs but also visually demonstrate the lifestyle of being raised in a Haitian family.
